  1. I agree with your philosophies of discomfort and pain. Discomfort, to me, is what reminds me of the constant flux of life- that it is NOT stagnant, that I'm in motion (however slow it may seem), perhaps growing, and going places. That the air around me is moving, light is shifting, the waters of the world are circulating like the blood in our veins, the earth is turning, and the fires of spirit are burning in the mind's eye (if only we look close enough.)
As for pain, what is pain but a reminder that we can feel? Sure, we're far more easily capable of feeling (or letting ourselves feel) joy, pleasure, rapture, amusement, love, etc. But I believe that pain is a necessary prick of the needle to remind us of our amazing capacity for feeling in times where we might be going numb or even dying a slow emotional death.
So... with discomfort comes the ability to move in harmony with the perpetual shiting of the self and the universe. And with pain comes the wake-up call into consciousness of the body and the heart... without which we wouldn't be able to feel all the other feelings that we appreciate.

  3. WOW, very insightful!

Yes indeed pain is a wake up call and is definitely much better than no feeling at all. Very true. I would rather cry than be emotionless...would rather rage than be apathetic.

I really enjoyed reading your thoughts R-Word.
Please check in a share some more of your wisdom soon.

  4. Check out this article. It's not directly related but you can draw a parallel. Super interesting.
